Help Bangladesh
18 November 2007
WITH the cyclone, Sidr, wreaking havoc in Bangladesh, the country needs immediate international aid. More than a thousand people have been killed. We are not properly equipped to deal with a disaster of this magnitude. Many people are still marooned in places like the St Martin Island. We have no clue as to how people affected by the cyclone are surviving in various parts of the country.
The communication system is in a shambles and therefore government or NGO aid is not reaching people in the affected areas. I request Bangladeshi expatriates and various international aid groups to help the people in Bangladesh to tide over this crisis.
